This Serious about Acting Masterclass is a 2 day intense course hosted at the exquisite venue the  Lighthouse, situated in the historic town of Poole in Dorset

This 2 day intensive Acting Masterclass at the Lighthouse is designed for students aged between 15-19 yrs that are looking to audition at the UK's top performing arts academies to gain either Degree or BTEC placements. The course is limited to 30 placements only. Students will work in small groups of 5 or 6 to learn, practice, and then perform live on stage in the Lighthouse's Shirling Studio in front of a live audience to enact various script/scenes that they will have been given prior to attending the Masterclass.

The Masterclass will focus on breaking down general Script text as well as movement and physicality, allowing students the opportunity to use the knowledge learnt during the course through practicing there given scenes and then performing it.

Each Student will be allowed two tickets to be allocated to spectators of their choice for their evenings performance in the Lighthouse's Shirling Studio starting at 7pm until 10pm.

 The Course Agenda: 

Day One (13th of February) :  9:30 am - 5.30pm 

  1. Meet and Great,
  2. A chat with  our course training ambassador training specialists  with regards his training and acting career.
  3. Advice with regards to preparing, seeking and gaining credible agents.
  4. A serious chat on how hard the industry is and the commitment required and what it takes to sustain ones self and stay with in the industry long term.
  5. Advice from the course training specialist with regards to which top Uk acting schools to audition for.
  6. Opportunity to ask our course training specialist questions.
  7. Acting games and improvisation an opportunity for all students to get to know each other and each others abilities.
  8. Lesson with course ambassador with regards to movement, physicality and breaking text down. 
  9. Students will then start working on their individual Scene Script acting roles in their groups with instruction from the course training specialist. 

Day Two ( 14th of February) :  9:30am - 10pm 

  1. Acting games and improvisation
  2. Continued scene acting working through movement and physicality and movement and breaking text down.
  3. From 2pm each group will go down in turn to the rehearse in the Shirling Studio for the evenings performance.
  4. 7pm - 9:50pm students will perform their learnt scenes.
